Friday 16th October is Developmental Language Disorder Awareness Day. 7% of the population have Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), that's 1 in 14 people, or roughly 2 in every classroom. DLD is a hidden condition - not obvious when you look at someone and can be masked behind learning, behaviour or the shy quiet child. This is why the theme of this year's awareness day is #DLDSeeME.
RADLD (Raising Awareness of Developmental Language Disorder) is an international organisation helping to raise awareness of this hidden, but common condition. Check out there website https://radld.org and YouTube channel www.youtube.com/RADLD. They have some great resources available for this year's awareness day saved here: https://radld.org/dld-awareness-day/resources-media-ideas/
How do you plan on raising awareness of DLD this year?
